Update to an earlier thread I made about a "band" problem...

A few months back I made this thread asking for advice from you guys about a "band" I was in that was going nowhere. As you can see from the thread, I followed the advice and my life went on really well ^_^ The glorified-jam group they knew as a "band" fell apart after the drummer revealed his true intention and started dating the female vocalist, and the guitarist tried replacing me with another kid that does not even know how to play bass. Suffice to say, the social relationship I had with those cats (keep in mind I never had one) fell in the pits and they never contacted me again about anything outside of "the band."

So... two days ago, I sign-on to iChat (which is a rarity for me since I hate Instant Messenger) to do a Japanese project with a fellow student and I get bombarded with IMs from those guys I used to play with. To be as succinct as possible, they were perfusely apologizing over how they treated me and they want me back in the band because they can't find a replacement (can you believe the nerve of those cats? They literally said that to me!). Considering I'm not -that- cold of an individual, I said, "I'll see" which basically meant "go ---- yourself in the ---."

This may sound like a silly question... but am I justified with my ambivalence towards those guys? Playing is playing and all, but with them it was under the guise of pseduo-friendship in which they basically used me whenever they wanted to impress their friends by saying they play in a "band."

Typically I don't second-guess myself, but I'd like to hear what you guys think.

I think your totally justified. If i heard there was a replacement in the works, i wouldnt waste another breath with them.
Time's too short and you should be able to find plenty of bass opportunities to pick and choose from.
