Using the internet to promote your band

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Guys, I want to start using the internet to promote, advertise, and network for my band. Who uses what sites and how do you find it works for you. I don't really want to launch a complete website. Do you use Myspace, Facebook, or any other way to do this?
Thanks
Al

MySpace all the way. Not that I have one for my band, but I have gotten countless messages about playing bass for bands. Most of the time theyre not local, or ut of state, but it shows they are good propaganda.

Another good idea is to post that link in your sig here on TB, in your emails, etc, etc.

Reverb Nation is another player to consider. Or set up a blog on wordpress.com or something.

The trick is really figuring out where your fans are. If they're on myspace concentrate your efforts there, if there on facebook, go there.

Facebook will be first

Thanks guys,
I guess I will start with facebook. We live and work in a small community so it will only take a few days to get all the locals. I will set a Myspace in a couple months after I get some good video footage from some of our bigger summer gigs. I think I will set up a band email address so I don't get my inbox flooded. That way all the members of the band can check in and delete the crap that comes along with facebook.
Thanks
Al
