Vent Drum machine/click track

Just a little vent, last night got together with my other guitar player, our drummer has been away working for the last month or so and me and the other guitar player had not played in a while, any ways I put a drum beat on through the pa, set the bpm to about 92 and start playing, what a god awfull mess, the guitar player could not play along, kept speeding up, and complained he could not hear the drum beat (I could barley hear my guitar, he had his loud....come on buddy!!!! if you cant hear the drum machine and complain about it, TURN YOUR AMP DOWN.... there is just two of us!!!) he just kept speeding up couldt keep a steady groove, he said it was easier playing with a real drummer, the problem is that when he speed up the words to the song wouldt fit anymore, wrecked the whole song.

I dont know, maybe its just me being a bass player at heart turned to the dark side of guitar player and singer.... I think playing bass and understanding the role, made me a better player. I am teaching a friend to play bass right now, and I just love the fullness it gives the sound of our band, I think guitar has it moments when to shine and when not to shine and how all the instruments sound in a mix......Our other GUITAR PLAYER is plug guitar in, distortion, crank up, Play, and just focus on what hes playing, has no concept of listning to the whole mix. Frustrating!!!!

Anyways, just a vent......I think some times it is harder for players to keep a slow tempo beat rather than a faster tempo.

Another thing that has helped me become a better player are forums like this, it makes you look at your self or question yourself if you do some of the things that you guys bitch about your other band members sometimes.

I think all people that form a band, all members should regulary visit this forum (singers, guitar, drums, ect) it really gives you a lot knowledge about playing with other people and general manners.

Thanks for listning... to my little rant......
