Please vote on this name for a rock/funk cover band (in USA)

Hush-A-Boom

(the term comes from the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon, the spies Boris and Natasha were always trying to steal the Hush-A-Boom which is a bomb which when detonated made no sound)

I like it because it's short and catchy, sounds quite funny, it's easy to say and remember, and it's sounds very unique. But it doesn't sound serious at all though, so I was close to voting no because of that. I'd say it depends on the music you play and your band's attitude.

What do you want the name to tell about you as a band?

Since we are primarily a bar band we want to convey that we're a good times, party band. That's about it, nothing serious about it. We're not delivering any political message and we're not playing a specific genre of music. For example, if we were a hardcore metal band I might suggest a name like "Panzerfaust".

This is why I qualified us as a rock/funk cover band.

Thanks for your vote, and I like your nickname.

I like it for a cover/party bar band. Not so much for an original project.

if it is more of a light rock, altern, garage, psycadelic or any of those sub genrey things i like it but if it is straigt ahead rock or hardish rock no, because of the funk elements i think it should fit

It's running 80-20 against the name...

but heck, what's in a name? as long as it isnt a) stupid, b) taken already, c) offensive, or d) very hard to remember...

it doesn't matter.

A good name won't help a bad band.

a bad name really won't hurt a good band.
