ha it's definitely attention-grabbing

but it might cause seizures in epileptic children

however, that may be an asset...

i think it's good, but i don't think think the flashing is that great, i got my attention realy well but then i just got a bit anoying. i think the best answer is just keep it red and white and you won't have any body suing you for a seizure

Sorry, I would've responded sooner, but I get sent to the hospital for seizures.

It would be good if it didn't flash. Since it flashes, it sucks. Think about it... what are the most annoying ads on websites you visit? the ones that flash a bunch. Stuff like that makes me close a webpage. Plus it makes it hard to read.

I went to your myspace, and saw that y'all had it pretty small on there, which helps. Still have a hard time reading it, though. There was another flashing logo on your page that was much better... the rotting knome one. If you have to have a flashing logo, study that one and figure out what makes it less annoying, and try to copy that general look. Basically, make the actual letters solid, and make background elements do the strobe thing. And don't strobe opposites, like black to white. Do a light red to dark red or something.

Please get rid of the flashing so I can actually look at it and give you some straightforward feedback about the logo itself.

Thumbs up

I think the flashing thing could work if you slowed it down A LOT.

like give it three seconds on each color, then it would still grab attention, but not cause seizures, and people would be able to read it.

sounds win win win to me.

O.K., I guess it's just not me that's annoyed by the flash? Sweet... I had a friend draw it up and I almost died when I saw it myself...We're for sure going to make a still version.

So apart from that, what else could make it better?

Can you put up a non-flashing version? I don't know much about computers but I can't really give you any feedback with it like that, haha.

Well, my first thoughts are:

It's hard to read - the colors, the font, the way your attention is drawn to the background and not to the letters... the colors don't have good contrast.

It would not scale well - If you tried to put that on a 1.5" button, you'd never be able to read it. It would work on a banner fine, though, but your logo needs to be scalable.

Logo design is *very* deceptively difficult. Creating a good logo is a skill worth thousands of dollars or more and you needn't be shy about outsourcing this to someone truly gifted, no offense intended. Google "logo design" and you'll get plenty of hits. It's very hard to change your logo ex post facto (and expensive, too)... definitely get it right the first time if you have a choice. Being a good musician and being a good graphic designer do not necessarily go hand-in-hand... if you are serious about using this logo long-term, put a couple hundred $ into having a great one designed, or at least meet with a graphic designer about going over your ideas.

My 2 cents,

The most effective logos use simple clean fonts. What I see in your logo is a downloaded novelty font that wasn't really meant to be read in sentences. You have a long name so it's even more critical that you keep it clean and easy to read.

DM...keep in mind a trio of high school kids like us have about $10 altogether. And the colors don't contrast 'cause I just took a frame off of the GIF.

RD, you think OURS is hard to read?

Thanks guys, keep the suggestions coming.
