Wedding band wanted

Sign in to disble this ad
Wedding band wanted...I live in Lafayette Indiana and my fiancee and I are getting married September 3, 2011. We are currently looking for a band to play the reception. I would rather hire a fellow Tber than someone off some other site. I don't know if this is against the rules or where to put this on here.

I figured what better place to start than here. We like to plan things in advance. So pm me; hit me up; give your links; and your price because we want to get the ball rolling.

Thanks

Dan Breslin

No. I don't want anything like that. We want musicians that can play jazz, rock and maybe some classical stuff too.

Classical like Intermezzo from Cavaleria Rusticana or classical like Johnny B. Goode?

If you guys have a good sense of humor, there's a pretty successful band called "Wedding Banned" that works out here in Chicagoland...not sure if they actually play weddings though...

Very entertaining

I am in a party rock band that covers 6 decades of tunes (something for everybody) and we can do weddings with no problem. However, we are in west central Pennsylvania.

It seems that when the D.J.s started taking most of the wedding gigs away years ago, many bands got away from trying to play them or play songs suited for those gigs.

Good luck in your search. I hope you find a great band for your special day. The right live music definitely means a lot and adds so much to the event.

We do, but I'm not sure the guys would travel that far. We always get good reviews and we're wedding dance specialists. Been playing wedding dances for 32 years.

You are kidding me. This person comes onto TB offering very nearly the *holy grail* of gigs, a *casual* and this is all the response?

Wow. I guess there's a lack of bands in the Indy area...

Wedding gigs are the best. That's why 99% of our gigs are wedding gigs. I would call them anything but casual though. To be successful at being a wedding band takes a huge amount of work. Much more than a club gig. Much more. One thing working against OP is the labor Day weekend. At our stage in our band life and our regular lives, we only play on average one gig per month by choice for a variety of reasons, but we command a premium on Labor Day weekend and I think OP should take that into consideration. He's well over a year out looking for a band and that is very smart. I think it's great he's looking here first. Way to go and best of luck!

I thought by now I have a list of bands to choose from. I am a an hour outside of Indianapolis and the band will need to play for about 3 hrs. The main music we want is rock and maybe some popular jazz, funk and soul. I am just throwing stuff out there. We are flexible or the song list we don't listen to country. But if you play it I'm sure we wont mind lol. I just want this to be a great day and the band is important to me. I don't want a DJ and either does she.

If this is in the wrong section could someone fix that for me? I would appreciate all the help I can get.
