Question What do you do if you have hair that doesn't look good long?

Sign in to disble this ad
My hair is really a piece of work. Its so f'''ed up. Its all curly and I dont grow it long because it will grow out in wierd ways and wont look right (trust me, I've tried. The 'fro thing doesn't work for me).

Now the solutions I've thought of are possibly wearing a hat, or forgetting about it altogether and not give a **** what I look like, which wud be near impossible cuz it will bother me.......help?

Seek a good hair dresser; they can work wonders. If not, buy a wig.

If you can't go really long, go really short.

I get my hair cut with a #1 clipper (army cut look). I guess when I play with my longhaired bandmates, it looks kinda punkish when paired with ratty jeans and tshirts.

I am a sales exec by day and the short lid also looks good with a suit.

I used to have long hair. I looked like a reject from a 70's country rock band. It was B-A-D.

Now I keep it pretty short, and do most trims myself with clippers. It goes well with any situation, musical or otherwise. (including my business/casual work environment)

And it is low maintenance! I haven't used a brush or comb in almost 10 years.

Bad Dome Day.....

personally i wear a hat and let it get all nasty and sweaty. I'm gonna end up with that F&$#@in patch on the forehead (or "fivehead" in my case), and deal with that.

Frankly, i think i'm just gonna shave it to a full "Hogan", and keep my hat on. maybe dye it red and be "boozy the clown" for helloween. NOT.

Not being a "perfect 10" (or even close to a 5), i think it's pretty funny when i'm rockin out and see some "high maintenance" chicks in the front and i swing the sweaty head their way. Then to hear them go "EEEWWWW you're all sweaty" at the end of a 2 hour set.

if we bass players didn't make "those" women dance, none of us would get any. my theory..... My sweat = you randoms gettin some.

don't worry about the hair. make sure you have it where it counts as opposed to being like Kip Winger. Just ask Tony Levin.

Seems like you'd be right in line with the whole emo look, i.e. looking like you just rolled out of bed. Wasn't there a MasterCard "Priceless" commercial on that very subject?

Can't look any worse than Claudio Sanchez or Mike Einziger or Art Garfunkel.

Try a straightening iron for a day. If you dig the look, get a straight perm.

My hair isn't long, but I am ready for a new look. Clipper on #2 next week. Off it goes. No more hair stylist, expensive cuts or colors. I hope the grey isn't as obvious when shaved short.
