What Do You Think?

I finally managed to upload 3 new songs onto our myspace site. Well, I shouldnt say they are "new" as the recordings have been around for awhile.

The first 2 recordings are off a record that cost $5000cdn to make. The third is a basement studio type recording. Its interesting to hear the production value differences. The fourth is done with a Panasonic tape recorder I bought at a yard sale for $8. It actually sounds not too bad.

The first 3 songs are recorded with the bands old Bassist. Funny enough, the leader actually prefers my playing as the former bassist was a "reformed" guitarist and wasnt a big fan of the pocket.

I think these songs are pretty damn good! Aside from Rumble they are all originals.

Hear them here:

Love to hear some feedback on them.

I'm a hack. Not much chance of me being proficient on the upright. I have so much to learn the 4 banger EB anyway. Plus, I love the tone of electric bass.

However, the band leader has asked me 3 times to learn the upright. Sorry bro, no can do!

Cool stuff ya'll are good ... I did a short stint with a rockabilly cat a few years ago ... taught me much about how to get upright tone from a P-bass ...

... Not a lot of rockabilly guys locally ... but these guys are good ... http://www.thedempseys.net/The_Band.htm
