Okay, so in my band I'm basically the manager. I organise the jams, organise schedules and basically act as a go between between the members as far as band issues go.
Anyway, we're a five piece band who recently got our first vocalist. We're all very happy with him, he has a great voice and a lot of enthusiasm, exactly what we're looking for.
Anyway, our rhythm guitarist works nights, our drummer works weekends, and our lead guitarist and I work at night on weekends. Unfortunately, this means we can only jam during the day, Monday to Friday. This is compounded by the fact we can't get any jam space anywhere outside of these hours.
Unfortunately, our vocalist has just gotten a job which is Monday to Friday. He was hoping we could jam on weekends, but I don't know.
In theory the guitarists and I can manage that time, but it's the only time we get to see our girlfriend's and I'm not sure if I'm willing to give that up at the moment.
Also, our drummer would either have to shift his work around or we'd have to replace him, another thing we're not so keen on.
I just wanna know if it's as black and white as it seems. In my eyes, the only option is to let the guy go and hope for the best for all of us, but maybe I'm wrong. A good vocalist is hard to come by and he was definitely one of the good ones.
On the other hand, as soon as we got our vocalist, me and the rhythm guitarist learnt to sing and play at the same time, so that helps us a lot. However, we place a lot of value on a dedicated front man.
Any thoughts? |
