Why did the PROMOTION Thread get deleted

For The Record!!!!

The PROMOTION THREAD was deleted today (Thursday March 1st, 2007)

At mine and my Father's request. He was appaulled.

This is REALLY too bad, so sad for some of you, as I have 4 more faxed pages of stunning ideas from Dad, some of you simply couldn't wait could you!

So that being said, We will continue assisting those who have already begun to benefit our help, and were cordial, but some of you are simply on your own now, We have no interest in helping you, you know who you are.

This is REALLY a shame. Sorry, to all who were good about it and patient PM me for help, but I simply can't bother with this anymore, as some of you think you already know all the tricks.

Oh well, we TRIED to help, but some of you obviously don't need it right, to bad for the ones that do. PM me.

Like I said early on in the thread:

"I'll just go back to answering thread about how I take my coffee....

BTW, the answer is Double Double, and on Xmas morning, with a shot of Kalua in it.....

HAPPY NOW?

DM says...."oh well, less work for me, we were simply trying to help"

Please accept our humblest appologies, but we will probably design a website with useful tips on Promotion and Marketing. This will take time however.

Well that is a shame - I was very much enjoying all of the good info you were posting - but there was a surprising amount of negativity being thrown back and forth, which was disheartening to say the least.

Sorry to hear that you deleted the thread. I was enjoying the read. While maybe not appropriate for all situations they were not bad Ideas. Ideas are just ideas until someone acts upon them. In a forum that promotes creativity like this one does it is sad to see promotional creativity reacted to so negatively. When you get your website up, if it's not against the rules, post the link. I for one will go have a look.

Some of you thought there was one winning idea that will spring you into stardom...there isn't one. I had to work long and hard to "position" Ford in the early 70's.

If you're eager to share ideas, there will always be doubters, but there will be 100 times as many people lurking in the shadows soaking up all the info. And if you thought about it for one second, you'd realize it's completely ridiculous for you to react that way. Thousands of people waiting for your ideas to come out, and you close a thread because of a handful of guys. You have much to learn about the internet.

I was looking forward to reading your ideas, too bad.

Thanks Intro, for your help. It's a shame that a few rotten apples spoiled the bunch. I was having fun reading the anecdotes and learning more about the business. As far as I'm concerned, this is my last opportunity to be successful in a band without going over the hill and no longer fitting in with my demographic. As you've heard, we've got our chops, and we put on a decent show...the thing that lacks is publicity. That's why I jumped at the chance to talk to you. I hope that we can continue to talk about options, as I'm really eager to learn more.

I think you wouldn't have gotten the responses you did if you would have approached the subject differently.

A simple list of ideas and a question answer session would have sufficed. Instead you came here making huge claims, and boasting about your dad every chance you got. Now, I have nothing against your father, his position, your band, or how your methods. It's just, the way you express yourself makes you sound like an over-hyped used car salesman.

I mean, you bragged about your ultimate promotion tactics, and than you revealed that you made 50 flyers and a few radio ads. This is a site full of musicians, we KNOW this stuff. And if we don't, it's certainly not an industry secret.

So instead of claiming to be a promoting guru (which you could very well be), it would be better to prove that to us by listing ideas in a more professional manner. If you want to be taken serious, than you really have to express yourself over the internet in a better fashion.

EDIT: This might go over a bit harsh. Don't take it so harshly. I don't hate you, I didn't blast you in the former thread, and I think you are doing a decent thing.
