This is sort of related to the cover band / original band thread. Some common themes expressed in that thread are "Cover Bands Are Where the Money is" or "Artists Don't Do Other Peoples Music".
So I'm curious. I like to play for fun and profit. Why do you do it??

Playing bass by myself just isnt as fun as with a band |

| | | | My band doesn't really play music I like, I joined because I enjoy playing, it's more fun playing with humans than a stereo/metronome, and it's a good experience. Learned a lot of things just by playing with them. |

| | | | I've played in a redneck rock'n'roll band for 26 years, but my regular playing now is in a praise band. Returning the gift I have been given, so to speak!

The drummer told me before we all got together "you should pick up a bass and let me know how that works out for you". I wouldn't be playing bass or be in a band if it wasn't for him and I get to play with some of the coolest cats around here.
I love the low end..

Opinions?

Opinions? | just like the "what's the definition of a musician?" thread. Mostly it's pure snobbery.
*shrugs*
I do what I do and it's working really well. People can wank themselves all day long trying to "make it" with originals - has nothing to do with me, so I don't really care. It's not my side of the street.

A passion, nothing more | and to add - I play bass because it's the only instrument I ever wanted to learn. I was fascinated by the tones Geddy Lee was getting out of his Ric. I was hooked.

Just to point out my stage addiction... I used to be in theater. I even traveled to Scotland for some stage time.

Meeting some a cool lass that loves Fugazi out of it wouldn't be so bad though
