At my gig last night, a girl came up and sang a MJ cover, a blues song, and a love song with her dad. Her dad, my teacher, said she was looking for a band.

I went up and was speaking to her, and she said she was looking for a bassist. Blah, blah, I gave her my number.

She called me today! She is calling me again in a bit with more details. The first call was to check the number.

And its not just a side project. Her dads band has opened for Van Halen on a world tour, along with many other acts. She has connections boys.

Wish me luck! Im a 16 year old, getting an amazing opportunity, I hope!

Best of luck to you! Now's the time for an opportunity like that! Better than years from now when you're married and working and unable to tour, etc. Keep us posted!

So that gig was worth it after all????

Believe me, I definitely will!

Im very, very excited for this. Plus, she plays funk! As many TBers know, Im the resident teen who knows his funk. My pedalboard is almost done, and my rig is incredible.

Im a happy man at the moment.

Here you go guys. She has never had a real band, and is very serious on the subject. Im pumped.

Allison Tuesday

The sad thing is, her singing on her MySpace is no where as good as her live.. I was in awe the entire time.

I am very pumped about it. Going from a jam band who barely practices or gigs, to a girl who knows Van Halen.. thats a pretty big jump!

Actually, her dad Joey, is really good friends with Billy Sheehan. They hangout when he tours, etc. Random bassist fact.

Are there honestly no Kill Bill scenes related to luck? I watched Kill Bill 1 last night.

I have tons of more details, but I have to go get a few patch cables. Ill post again when I get home.

I watched it last night too (on Spike; it kinda sucked because all of the violence was edited). Keep me informed. BTW, here is a lucky shoe:

She has a nice voice, but she does need a bass player. If there's one thing I can't tolerate, it's manufactured beats and synth bass lines. Her voice reminds me a lot of Jaci Velazquez. That's too cool to have a front woman like that. Best of luck.

Luck has nothing to do with it. Luck is what happens when preparedness meets opportunity.

Do the math:

married + working + family =/= ability to tour

Go for it. When I was in HS, my band director said I should skip college (at least for a year) and go to NY or LA to just play. Parents had a fit - so I went to music school (thought it was a nice compromise) - found out I couldn't play piano - changed majors. Have a bachelors degree and a master's in education, and do about 3 gigs a year. Almost 50 now and still have regrets....

If you've got the talent, share it with the world.

Good luck. Hopefully it'll work out, if not at least it oughta be a great learning experience.

Nice! Connections are great, you can't beat them. The girl's father must be into something.I would imagine you have to have something going on to open for VH.

But be cool and keep your head on. When I was your age I had a few run ins with the connected and somewhat famous people.

The best part of your story is meeting a singer your age that can sing and is intersted in colaborating.

Thanks for the replies guys. Im still not totally informed.

Though, my dad just told me a but about her:

She went to Nashville to live for two years to record. Her manager was also the manager for Faith Hill! She must be pretty good! She recorded for about 6 months, then the manager developed terrible cancer and passed away.

Since then she has just waiting for the opportunity, and last night, opportunity came knockin, both for me and her!
