Wow! Played with Gilby Clarke and Dizzy Reed Saturday

I just had to tell someone. Opened for the "Starf*ckers" last weekend - a band made up of Gilby Clarke and Dizzy Reed (both ex-Guns and Roses and your remember Gilby from "Rockstar Supernova") as well as Eric Singer, Stefan Adika

Had the backstage lounge, the free booze, t-bone steak dinners before the gig. It was amazing. They are really nice guys and more down to earth than I imagined. He had some funny comments about working with Tommy Lee (he didn't enjoy it). That he had been working with Heart and doing a lot of other stuff.

Anyway, it was pretty cool. They did a variety of rock covers. They pulled several of us up with them to play a couple. The bassist used my amp (they were all flown in for the gig). Fun, fun fun.

No question...just wanted to share with my fellow TBers!

It's just experiences like this that you remember.

I'd love to know what Gilby really thought about "Rockstar Supernova".

He said several things.

1. He had a lot of fun doing the show.
2. Despite what people think, it was not scripted. They just let it happen as it did
3. Tommy Lee is very difficult to work with, both on the show and the tour.
4. The winner was Tommy's apparent favorite from the beginning and to him it seemed "inevitable" even if it wasn't explicitly stated.
5. They won't be doing a Supernova II.

Cool stuff.. I thought that the Supernova house band was way better than the band itself.

Jason Newsted? Actually I didn't ask him. We didn't focus on Supernova. We were just chatting about music and such in general.

I thought they had teams of writers working 24/7 to come up with "dude, you totally killed it".
