writing songs

So, in my band, i basically write the material we play. And it usually sounds fine to me, but sometimes I feel it simplifies the song too much if it's me as the bassist making it. I feel like our lead guitarist doesn't tweak his part enough, which leaves the rhythm guitar doing virtually the same thing. My part is free as a bird. but i don't want to just say "add to it" to our guitarist, as he's not very good at changing something without changing it drastically.

Any advice?

Write as a group, write not only on the bass, but on different instruments, experiment more when you write
