Hi All
Been in a band for about three months now. They've been playing together for a little longer, and the drummer has played with the guitarist and the singer seperately before. All was going well if a bit slowly, and the guitarist was kinda ignoring everybody else's song ideas and ploughing ahead with his own. I thought I could deal with this, he's not been playing in bands too long and the more experienced members and I could rein him in a little and get our ideas across eventually.
He books the practices, and I don't play a part in that because I'm fairly new in town. I found today that he's been saying he'll try and book a room, but then comes back to me saying the rehearsal space is fully booked, when it actually isn't. And now I come to think of it, there's loads of other rehearsal spaces in Manchester... Hmmm...
As for the band itself, I really get on with the drummer, but I hate playing with people I don't feel I can trust. The singer is really talented (and hot), but she's not the style of vocalist I'd choose to work with in an ideal world. Although working with a strong female voice gives us all kinds of creative potential which I love, and call me old fashioned here, but I prefer a large hairy man screaming his lungs out any day... It's a personal choice thing.
What to do? Confront him? Just keep quiet but book practices myself in future because it's not really that big a deal? Or just walk away from it all because it's not worth the drama? Help.
