| | | | It could be. It's not the band; you guys are solid. But other than the last pan shot, it doesn't show much of the crowd or the crowd reaction. If I were to judge the video by the first 1:30, I'd wonder if you really had anyone in the club except those at the front of the stage. Remember, clubs ultimately want to know if you can draw a crowd.

| | | | I don’t see anything wrong. Good video, good sound, stage presence and energy, good songs, good gear, people dancing having a good time…
Is the song list compatible with the venues you’re trying to get?
Edit: LiquidMidnight has a point; maybe put the clips with the dancers in the beginning of the video. In any case, the video was good enough that I’d have watched it to the end.
Your photos could show more crowd shots, as well.

Do you know whether or not the clubs actually looked at the video? |

If I was critiquing the video however the first couple songs have a big guy blocking the view and then the next songs have way too much zooming in such boring subjects such as on keyboard fingers. Too much zooming makes you dizzy. I would recommend shooting the band from behind the dance floor straight on. Try to get as many people dancing and watching the band as possible. Attractive women in short skirts dancing around in the video don't hurt your cause much either. As the other poster mentioned, club owners want butts in the seats. They like to see packed dance floors and not just the band wives and girlfriends dancing upfront. |

I try to keep track of the clubs to see if they did watch the video... some don't per Google Analytics.. so I wait a few days and get back in touch to follow up.
I do the booking and yes, the clubs we are contacting are in the genre for the song list.
We do have other clips so Im looking through them now to see if there are better crowd shots on others.
and to mboogiemanusa.. LOL that night there was some ladies night out, so all the ladies up front were not even with the band. |

But most people would never even notice that. I'm just mentioning it.

You said this was shot in April; are you guys tighter now? Have you built relationships with any clubs that might provide a better backdrop for a new video? Ever thought about doing a video that is more 'stylized', more memorable, and more unique....for example, shoot in black and white in a more 'rock n roll' type setting and edited to look like 8mm tape or something else that conveys the vibe of the era of music you guys celebrate? I am in the same game and a well thought out video that is professionally shot will provide a return on the initial investment for years to come. Food for thought and best wishes!! |

And what the video looks like is a youtube ego video with broken-up audio. I don't mean to offend, but what *I'd* want to see is now what you are showing. At your next gig, show lots of folks having fun, interacting with the band - and make sure the audio is dial in a bit better. There are a zillion bands out there doing classic rock - I have to say If I had to judge based on that video alone, I'd pass.
Unless you were dirt cheap - then I wouldn't care!
Really, I'll bet your act is better than what comes across on that video. You can do a better video.

Anyone who has heard a band and heard a modestly produced video could easily assess what you bring after watching that vid. I thought you guys looked and sounded damn good.
That bass player though, yikes...

I would set up a show, in a nice location and fill it, like tell everyone from work, friends family take a hit and maybe do it for free, no cover stuff like that. Rent a good camera and play all night and film EVERYTHING.
I would cut that, and I mean, you would loose money that night, but you guys sound pretty good, and you should market yourselves that way. A good kit for clubs can get lots of shows booked and you would make your money back and then some.
Theres two things you need good music and good marketing. Right now i feel like your music is better then your marketing. |

As a cover band, we shot video of the bands first show back in April of this year. When talking to prospective clubs we always send them to our website to check us out. I am now wondering if the video is the reason we are not getting booked at certain places.
Take a look at the video and if you were a club, would you book the band you see on the video? www.osjaustin.com
Thanks for the help | Don't get mad!
Except for "You Shook Me," the singer sounded off key. Maybe a little sharp.
You asked.

You look good and have a crowd reacting and dancing which is nice. The videos sound doesn't do a band justice as a live sound will. I would book you.
I think you need to make a person to person contact thou, to many bar owners managers are plain lazy and you have to take your stuff to them.
