| I play in original bands that play out more for the exposure than for the money. What bothers me most about the cover charge is when the bands on the bill split the door based on how many people each band brought in. Since the audience for our band is mainly friends, I feel terrible taking their $5 cover and putting it into my pocket. I'd rather them come and have a good time and spend the $5 on another beer. So if the club will allow it, we just choose to waive the cover for our friends and not get paid. |
