Beethoven Seventh Symphony Allegretto on electric bass

I know some of you would never descend to the bass guitar forums, so I'm posting this link here. You might find it interesting:

Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony was premiered in 1813 in Vienna. The birds are not part of the orchestration; they were visiting my backyard at the time of this recording.

As always, use headphones for best results, and DO try this at home.

It is interesting! Sometimes I felt as if the harmonies got muddled up, so perhaps you could bring it up an octave or transpose it to a higher key?

Thanks for the feedback, Erik. It IS dark for sure, but I wanted to show other “classical” players what an electric can so. It’s in the original key so I can use the open strings for the “bass” part. Coming from the double bass, I use flat wound strings with the classic passive pick up of an old Fender Precision. They’d feel like the strings that you’re used to. The slap/pop electric school use brighter round wound strings, often with active pickups… totally different. A double bass player would find those strings very rough and harsh on their fingers.

You ARE using headphones, aren’t you?

Your A string is out of tune.

You're wrong. It was the G,D, and E strings that were out of tune.
