| | | | Christian McBride: Live At Tonic Anyone heard this yet? I picked it up the other day, and well, it's LONG (3 cd's) and the first cd is over an hour.....that's as far as I've gotten so far.
From a first listen: yeah, that band is smokin, especialy the drummer, Tyrone Gully I think his name is. Anyhoo, lookin forward to the next 2 cd's as well.
One caveat: I thought Christian's upright tone would be alot better live. It's fine, but not blowing me away. HUGE difference from his studio recordings.
Yeah, I know, most people's are.

DJ Logic, Scratch from The Roots, the guitarist from Soulive (not sure of his name, not worth remembering, IMO), and some others all take solos. It's great. |

It's great. | Eric Krazno - he is worth remembering - if not on this recording (I didnt think he got to shine much either) - then on his various other recordings.
I really dig this set of shows.
The first disc is a combination of the first two sets of the two night show. The 2nd and 3rd discs are the 2nd set of each nights show and were all improv with various guests. |
