John Goldsby Trio/Quartet

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have uploaded a couple of YouTube videos with previews of a new CD that is coming out in August: *Space for the Bass*

Francesco Cafiso, Martin Sasse, John Goldsby, playing "Clockwise"

If you have never heard Francesco play—he is the real deal. He was 19 when he recorded this (he turned 20 a week later). Martin is a great pianist in the Cologne area.

and

Karolina Strassmayer, Martin Sasse, Hans Dekker, John Goldsby, playing (my ballad) "Blue Dahlia"

Karolina is also a wonderful alto player . . . and Hans is a bass player's best friend We all play in the WDR Big Band here in Cologne.

Enjoy!

Thanks Adam! Yes, it will be on iTunes and all of the other usual spots. I will also post it on lastfm for those who really want to give it a good hard listen before they "buy" (or not).

Great! I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of it. What a great idea to video the session.

Thanks Mark. The video was easy to shoot, but a bit of work to edit. In the quartet session, I am in a booth and there is not a lot of room for a wide shot—so I just put the camera as far away as possible and it does kinda get a nice angle on the right-hand stuff, then some thumb position left-hand in the solo. In the trio session, we were all in the same room.

I am getting my iMovie chops together trying to do these things.

As I mentioned, I will put the stuff up on lastfm when the CD is out officially, so anyone can check out all of the tracks for free.

Dude, I'm here to support the music. I'm buying a copy when it is available.
