| Miles at the Black Hawk & Rediscovering Old Faves I'm spinning the Miles Davis' Live at the Black Hawk 4-CD set now. I just got it this morning.
This is a record that I listened to, and played along with, literally hundreds of times as a kid. Turning down PC and grooving along with James Cobb was quite literally one of the ways I learned to play jazz. When I think of jazz, this stuff is by and large what I think of.
It is so cool to hear it sounding clean, and to hear new, unreleased stuff that sounds just like the old familiar stuff. Hey, there's "I Thought About You" -- man, I've never heard this, but there's Wynton Kelly making Miles sound like the Mayor of San Francisco! I can't wait to get home and work out again!
You?
