New Red Mitchell/Bill Mays YouTubes

Pianist Bill Mays just sent me this. Lovely music and fantastic Bill & Red:

From Bill Mays:
Bassist extraordinaire Red Mitchell and I made two TV shows in 1982 in Los Angeles. Recently unearthed and edited, four tunes are now available at YouTube. They offer a wonderful close-up look at Red’s unique technique, tuning in 5ths, his great solos, and some snappy early 80s hairstyles!

Thumbs up

Thanks for posting this! Talk about a relaxed, fluid technique. Great stuff.

Thumbs up FUNNY!

I JUST came in to do this same thing, John.
Thanks...........
I got the links from Colin Bailey 15 minutes ago.
Red's solo on Midnight is wonderful. When he does those high glissandi, I always find myself praying he'll land on home. As always, not a problem.

Side bar. Our John Goldsby (The OP) was personally hired by Red to do some dates in NYC with him when Red was singing and playing piano. I only point this out, because John prolly won't. Says a bunch.....IMO.
(You owe me, John. )
