Patitucci's "Line By Line"

I just got this today and I've only heard it twice. At first blush this album is very deep, very broad and just darn good. The writing is remarkable -- I never thought I'd say, "The string quartet and bass guitar piece is really gorgeous" but there it is!

Great players: Adam Rogers on guitar, including some sweet stuff on classical (which I've never heard him play). Chris Potter is at his best. Blade is Blade, and his thing with JP is so thoroughly developed.

Anybody else?

I am gonna check out the Patitucci-Rogers-Blade trio live at the Jazz Standard here in NYC this weekend...

will post comments... if it weren't for John and his 1992 acoustic performance in my hometown in Italy, I would still be a heavy metal electric bassist. Well, maybe.

I have all of Johns solo albums , and this one is by far the best one , up there with Communion and Imprint.
If you listen to early JP , the stuff is just to arranged and corny , its just to much of everything , corny choirs and a lot of dubbing stuff. This album is just so clean and simple , just simply beautiful. Adam Rogers is amazing , and off course Chris Potter.
