| Rufus Reid Trio "Perpetual Stroll" 1981 Another one I hadn't listened to in a long time. This is the original release on Theresa Records TR111, 1981.
Eddie Gladden- Drums
Kirk Lightsey- Piano
Rufus Reid- bass
I think you can download it these days. The whole session is great. Three compositions by Rufus, one by Mr. Lightsley, and a wonderful solo bass of Oscar Pettiford's "Tricotism". Mr. Gladden is featured percussion wise on Herbie Hancock's "One Finger Snap".
Mr. Reid's comments on the birth of the session:
"I had decided to leave the Dexter Gorden Band, and it became apparent to me that I was not only leaving a great band, but a great chemistry that I had never felt before. My concern was to preserve what we, as a rhythm section, had together-and it feels good. If you feel the desire to listen twice, it really is that intangible chemistry coming through. Good listening!" ---Rufus Reid
Thank-you Rufus!
