Transposing recordings (mac)

I just made a great discovery that I thought people might be interested in. I'm currently learning the Dragonetti concerto, in concert tuning. I went to play the beginning along with my Gary Karr recording... oops!! I'm playing a Major 2nd below him and the whole orchestra. So I went to transpose the mp3 down a whole step in Garage Band, but wasn't able to. There's a trick to it. Rather than explain I'll just put up this link. It does a much better job explaining it than I'm capable of!

PS: I hope lot's of people find this helpful because I can't imagine I'm the only one who opted to learn a concerto like the Dragonetti in concert tuning. (And I also hope I posted this in the right forum)!!!

I also use Amazing Slow Downer for Mac. It's 25$, but you can change pitch and/or tempo in real time.
