Vanhal Concert Performance

This is the third thread I've made with recordings of me playing this piece. I hope this one gets some responses.

To start off my name is Andrew, and I'm 15. I've been playing for about 2 years now. If you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndid=294709431 Theres the link to my myspace page where the Vanhal recording is posted.

Please tell me what you think!

You play well for your age.
I think you should contact Max Dimoff of the Cleveland Orchestra and start taking monthly lessons with him if possible.

Do not wait until college to start with a top teacher, you are ready for it now.
kindest

Thank you.
I live about about 2 hours from cleveland. I dont drive yet, so that might be out of the question. For now at least.

My teacher now is Dr. Mark Morton of the Columbus Symphony. He's great.

Mr. Morton is a elite teacher.

But wow, 2 years playing!? That is amazing.

Yeah he's a great teacher. I don't think I'd be where I am today with out him.

Thanks.

I still think you should take lessons with one of the top teachers/players.
By that I mean either Hal, Paul, Ed, Tim Pitts or Max.
I suggested Max as he is the closest to your location.
2hours is nothing.
At your age I flew to London from Norway just to take lessons with Paul Ellison.
Best decision I ever made. It also helped me make connections that made a big difference in my choice of college.

I'd really like to take a few lessons with him. I was thinking I might try to get a lesson once or twice a month from him over the summer. I'll have to think about it, and of course discuss it with my parents.

Thanks for the advice

Basso03, keep up the good work! I saw Dr. Morton play at ISB in '94 (or was it '93?). A first rate player. You are in good hands.
