| Man that sux.
I had that happen to me once. Our practice room was in a place we liked to call "the crack house" it was on the upper floor of an old department store. All the doors had grates and chains on them and you could add to them to make them more secure. It took us 10 minutes to open the door up.
We were there for years and never had any problems.
The band in the room next to us left and we were given the option to move into their room. It was twice the size of ours. So we did and beefed up the grate and chains on the door.
After our first practice there we were locking up and my girlfriend, now my wife said aren't you going to take your bass? I said nah, we never have any problems here.
We go back the next day and sure enough, the room was broken into. Not through the grate but through the wall - they kicked the wall in and got in that way.
My fretless was stolen, the guitarists, 68 strat and marshall head was stolen along with misc PA gear.
The kicker is a couple of months later I was at a place and I saw what I thought was my bass case next to the band. I went up to the bassists and started talking to him and I told him mine got swiped. I shouldn't have said anything because whatever bass was in that case never came out all night. I should've asked him to see it, I know it was most likely mine.
Hope you have better results. Thieves suck and to steal from people that have to scrimp and save to get their gear is repulsive. |
