Euphonic Audio VL 208 Cab Stolen in UK

I had my EA VL 208 cabinet stolen from the back of my car and would appreciate it if everyone could look out for any "used" cabinets like this up for sale in the UK.

These are quite rare in the UK and are only sold by Overwater in Carlisle and the Gallery in London. They are black with the letters EA in red on the front. The serial number of mine is

V29089a.

Please help if you can - my insurance didn't cover theft from an "unattended car"!

I posted this quite while ago and checked every shop I could - but never got the cab back.

Som UK bass player is playing my cab illegally - I did report this theft to the Police in Brighton and they have all the details ......

.... I suppose the only thing is never leave any gear in an unattended car, no matter how short the time period is!

Difficult if you've got more than you can carry in one trip. My solution is not to leave anything visible in the car - was your cab on the back seat or hidden in the boot?

It was hidden in the boot and to be honest I didn't think any thief would even know what it was or that it had any value! It certainly took a long time to explain to the insurance people and the Police - so it's like - you mean part of your car stereo - no it's a cabinet for amplifying bass guitar - what?

Hmnnn... I'm glad I've now got a much more capacious gig bag that lets me do without the extra bag I used to carry that meant I had to leave the cabinet locked in the boot of the car....

I'll bear that in mind.

Do you have insurance guys?

I havent at the moment, but I did have last year. I paid £70 or £80 to have a bass, amp and cab to the total cost of £2500 (or thereabouts) insured for use anywhere in the UK and to be left in an unattended vehicle.
Not bad considering the usual 'go for a beer' factor after rehearsals and the 'hang about after gigs' factor.
Of course insureance money can't replace your own personal bass that you've become very attached to, but for a cab or amp it's gotta be done.

I have a mini-tour coming up in a few weesk apparently (i.e. so I'm told?!), so in a way I'm glad I saw this thread - it reminded me i need to get insured again. Sorry Bruce

Bruce, you cab is a big box designd for mkaing loud bassy sounds... all manor of escort driving terry's and/or house mixing morons would recognise a decent bass bin when they see one.
Apart from that a proper pikey will nick anything regardless of whether they know what it's for or not!

I've got my gear insured for about £5-6,000 - but the premium on that is over £100, which is pretty high - but the stipulation is that it doesn't cover theft from an unattended vehicle. If I got it to cover that, the quote is astronomical!

5 to 6 grand? blimey - what do you have insured for use outside the home, where did you get it insured and what do you take to each gig?! ... kitchen sink springs to mind?!

my was with endsleigh - literally £80 for the year for my fender (£1100), EA head and a second tech systems cab (£2500 for both).

EUB and Tobias - just under £2k each - Eden head at about £800 + two cabs - it gets to £5k very quickly!!
