I feel your pain. I'm a builder and was relived of all my tools at one point.

Nothing compares to the feeling, walking in through a kicked in door and looking at empty places that once held the things you used to feed your family.

BTW, my comfort was found with the realization that i would recover with new tools and move on, while this scumbag would spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.

Well, i also live near an area that's pretty well known for tweekers and low-lifes. My area, i thought, was pretty safe... a few blocks from me is gangsters and hoods. Even the cops first thought was "tweeker" based on the fact that it had to be someone skinny and small to get through the dog door and can't reach the door lock.

Where in SD are you living? My old neighborhood got hit repeatedly. Broad daylight - neighbors coming and going - alarms up to your ears. Brazen, man, brazen.

Clairemont. A little end street that's very quiet.

aw man - that sucks. I've had attempted break-ins at my place. Now I have an ADT system...sure, costs me $55.50 a month for monitoring but at least I'll now if someone tries to take my goods!

It's not stuff but the sense of violation that is hard to deal with. Sorry to hear about this and I hope that Fender shows up on Craigslist or someplace where you can retrieve it.

I am so sorry to hear this. There should be a special spot in the Abyss for home violators, IMO.

This happened to someone a while back on Strat-talk, but they did manage to find at least some of the stuff and get it back. Hopefully you can recover some of it, particularly your baby.

Fortunately, given what can happen, it was only stuff and not lives that was lost.

Hey, gusto.

Sorry for your (and your wife's) losses. I was thinking maybe using the photos of your gear to scout out local pawn shops/music stores to see if any of your axes turn up. I'm sure you have already thought of this. It sucks that your Squier P 5-string got swiped, too. IIRC, you just got the damn thing last week or so, no?

Sorry to hear about this, been there and done that.
I hope things work out for the best.

I also hope that all thieves die screaming.

Thanks so much to everybody. It means a lot to me.

And yeah... that squier just came into my possession last weekend.

A note to the mods.. i understand you have a section for lost & stolen stuff. But, as a consideration to the person who loses their gear, i wish this could've stayed posted in the basses forum for a little longer. Not everyone reads the lost & stolen gear stuff, it's hard to get the word out when it moved to a minimal area of traffic. This seems like it would make sense if the stolen gear listed is posted in the correct forum so more people can see it.

IF anyone in the San Diego area sees these instruments contact me immediately.

1. 1997 Fender Am Std. Jazz V, Black with white pickguard, serial number starts with N7, in a musicians friend gig bag.

2. MTD Heir 5 tobacco sunburst with new KZX neck (black headstock). In a roadrunner Hardshell case

3. Squier Precision 5 tobacco sunburst, stock. This was in a SKB freedom hardshell case.

4. Aguilar TH 500 Serial number #15136.

This happened while i was gone for 2 hours at work. I now have no instruemnts or an amplifier. So awesome.
Someone knew exactly WHAT you have. I'd check new aquaintances......
Sounds like an inside job to me.

NO ONE breaks in EXACTLY after you've stepped out, unless they KNEW you were " stepping out " !!

Check your local Pawn Shops.

Sounds like a fine citizen from El Cajon took your gear. I hope the best for you. Nothing lower on the earth than a thief.

HA!

Or maybe Lakeside....

UPDATE: Not much. Stuff is still gone. Nothing on craigslist or otherwise. Many more police are patrolling the area however. Apparently the shooting, stabbings and multiple burglaries in the last 2 weeks spurred their interest...

Definitely...lakeside, el cajon, lemon grove, la mirada, whittier. I never buy anything from CL if it has any of those cities listed. Kind of a whack thing to do on my part, but hey, when you see so many obvious fakes and possibly stolen gear coming from the same place you tend to not want to go there.

I'm always looking at stuff so I'll keep an eye out. My mom's place got hit a while back. We're pretty poor so all they got was jewelry, but it was all hand-made stuff I've made her and my sister over the years. Then when they didn't find what they were looking for they trashed the place. (which is a funny story, cuz they found a lock box and went to great lengths to open it, all they found was stuff my sister didn't want her kids to find...if you catch my drift. Haha. We assume that's when they trashed the place...destroyed cabinets, dumped sodas all over the carpet. It was bad.)

Anyway, if you ever find yourself in a bass emergency, hit me up and I can spot you a bass and/or cabs and whatnot. Effing thieves.
