Last night someone smashed my truck window and smashed my Ampeg Head on the street and stole my Rickenbacker. If anyone comes across a 1980 Burgundy Rickenbacker 4001 w/ a Badass Bridge II on it and Serial Number TH 3349 on this forum or ebay or craigslist or any forum please let me know. Wow that sucks. Was the gear left in plain view? I did that once with a guitar but was fortunate to catch the guy Check pawnshops in the area asap and lookout on Craigslist and the usual places. Why would they smash an amp head.......

Do you have pics? Get them out everywhere. Pawns. Mom n' Pops. GC. Rehearsal places, Internet. Offer a reward-appeal to greed. Make your situation highly visible so that the culprit or fence can't uncase it without sweating bullets-they might just turn it in. Good luck in recovering the ric.

That's rough man. There's some guys on here from Vancouver B.C. area that could keep their eyes open for it. You just never know. Craiglist and kijiji are gonna be places it might turn up as well. Keep the radar up guys....

they smashed your ampeg too? maybe this was some sort of bass hate crime. at least you have a very recognizable instrument vs a black MIM jazz.

I think its revenge.

I hate to say it but i think it maybe someone you know. The biggest reason is they took the time to smash your head. Most crooks would try to take it and if they couldnt just drop/leave it not actually destroy it.Think if there is anyone that would know your bass is regularly in your truck , any ex bandmates or ex girl friends that would have it out for you. make sure you call the police.

I am very sorry tho, i know the price of the head/bass/window is more than likely 2,000$+

Good luck, i am on ebay daily and will let you know if i see it.

Also there is a lost/stolen forum on TB.

Your not to far from me so it may show up around my parts.

+1 . Don't count on the police to keep an eye on the pawn shops. I have both my basses stolen from my house in 2000. In CA there is a law that requires pawn shops to check with a police database for stolen goods. Despite that both my basses ended up going through a local pawn shop. Turns out there was a screw-up when the serial numbers were entered into the system. Three years later, I did get one bass back, but the other was sold before we found out it was there, and once they sell it, the pawn shop is no longer libel for the stolen property.

You could get compensation for the damage done to you're car + amp head, without a doubt.

That really sucks! I just checked ebay and the craigslist in Washington and didn't find anything. Keep looking at pawn shops and music stores. I'll also agree it does sound like revenge with the smashing of your head.
