Three basses were stolen from a prominent Houston bassist this past week. The owner is a TalkBass member who asked me to post this because his computer was stolen at the same time. Cases were not stolen with the basses.
Music Man Stingray, pre-Ernie Ball. Black finish with white pickguard. Finish described as "chewed up." Maple board; 4-bolt neck; neck described as "screwed on too tight." Strung through bridge (not body). S/N unknown. Pictures below.
62 Reissue Fender Jazz Bass. Fiesta Red finish. Rosewood fingerboard, stacked knobs. This is an early model (circa 1983). Serial number is V005724. Easily distinguishable from the back of the body: (1) there is a routing for a battery compartment (a previous owner had installed active pickups; pickups are now passive and only the routing remains), and (2) there are autographs from George Clinton, George Porter, Jr., B.B. King, and Gatemouth Brown on the back. Below are pictures of Larry and his beloved Fiesta Red.
Arbor Explorer Bass. Orange Finish. Owner got silly and wrote "Bädäss" and "Blües" on the back and "E A D G" under the bridge.
If you have any information about these instruments, please PM me or email rfusillo (at) gmail (dot) com. Thank you for any help you can provide.
