STOLEN FROM KIRA ROESSLER - PLEASE LOOK!

Sign in to disble this ad

Kira Roessler, former bassist for Black Flag and bassist for Dos, had her home broken into today. If you regularly peruse Ebay or Craigslist or any other music-gear oriented site, and find the bass pictured above, contact Kira on her Facebook page, or post here and I'll get the info to her.

She's really enamored of this bass, which was custom made, 3/4 scale, and given to her by Mike Watt.

Keep your eyes peeled, guys, let's bring Blue home!

Oh, man!! What a huge bummer. I saw her playing that bass with Watt at a Dos show about 4 years ago.

What area does she live in?

Los Angeles area ... LAPD will have a case number for her tomorrow. Anyone with information should contact the LAPD, and as soon as she posts the case number, I'll post it here.

What a huge bummer! I can't imagine this will be easy to sell. It's pretty distinctive.

Drank Mike Watt and fIREHOSE's beer after a show in Salzburg, Austria back in the spring of '92. Somewhere in my stuff I have the set list from that show signed by Mike, George Hurley and Ed from Ohio. Talk about a great bunch of guys.

Hope the jerk who stole this bass get caught and put away for a good long while.

That sucks! Played a show with Dos a few years back. Total bummer. I'll keep my eyes open here in LA for that blue beauty.

First off, HOT bass! Rickencaster? TeleRicker? Secondly, that thing aint moving ANYWHERE for sale. Its too unique. Hopefully all the pawnstars have been notified and folks are scouring craigslist.

Crazy fkn bass! I love it! Hopefully it lands back where it rightfully belongs.

There's a cheat sheet on the back, explaining how everything works, because Kira said it was too tough to remember everything. LOL.

Oh man, that stinks! I saw Kira a long, long time ago with Black Flag, and have always been a huge Watt fan.

That is one cool bass! I wonder who made it? Anyway, I hope she gets it back soon.

Keep in mind that it may not be blue by the time it hits ebay or CL. Some thieves will do anything to a bass to try and hide the fact that it's stolen.

Good point altgrendel. Regardless, a shape and headstock like that is pretty unique in a shortscale. Hope it gets found. And their arse gets properly kicked!

That bass was made by Mark Garza of Garz Guitars... Hopefully someone will do the right thing and return it.

Man... About every three or four months we get a thread with somebody asking "what is this awesome blue bass I saw?" Talk about one of a kind!

This is not cool. I hope it finds its way back to her. I guess the saving grace is how unique it is, it's going to be very hard to sell...

Bumpin the bump, ya'll.

And there was a real hammerhead commenting in that link. What a jerk!

"i'm sure she has easy access to a hundred that're just as good. i mean, it sucks when anything gets stolen but it's a bass guitar we're talking about here, right? its easy to find a wonderful bass guitar."

What a meatsack! It's about WHO gave it to her, and the fact that it was COMMISSIONED SPECIFICALLY FOR HER. Sheesh.
