Stolen Lefty Fodera Emperor - Nashville

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey friends,

My Fodera Emperor 5 bolt-on was stolen out of my car late last night. I'm hoping that it's a rare enough bass (lefty, Fodera) that it'll turn up pretty quick. Any and all help to be on the lookout would be absolutely helpful.

Thanks,

Matt

Here's a couple of pictures....

Matt, I was just coming here to post this up for you. Didn't know if you were familiar with TB or not. Got the email from Dave Fowler last night. I am sorry to hear about this happening. I'll keep my eyes and ears open around town and hope something turns up. With a bass that rare, it's gonna stick out like a soar thumb if somebody trys to move it or play it in Nashville. You don't see many Fodera's around. Matter of fact I can only think of 2 players off the top of my head. Vic and John Billings. Anything I can do to help, let me know.

I will keep my eye on all of the Alabama Craigslists for you...I am in Birmingham and check them anyway.

Also, if you use www.searchallcraigs.com you can search ALL the craigslists at one time...might save you some time.

Hey Matt,

I would call Joey and let them know that it was stolen as well if you haven't already. They might have your serial number on file too.

Sorry, man!

Yeah, I called them the day it happened. I had a pic of the SN, but I couldn't make out a couple of digits. The woman they have answering the phone there now hooked me up with it.

You should let everyone at leftybassist.com know too, then you'd get guys looking for lefties keeping an eye out.

Wow Bummed to see this happen.

Very unique instrument being a lefty Fodera, Be sure and check all local pawn shops too. Unless the person who ripped it is another musician, I doubt they even know what they have. I'd bet they'll more than likely hock it for a fix.

+1 on contacting Fodera

Let us know what happens.

Good Luck,
God Bless, Ray

This bass is gorgeous, it tears me up inside seeing it stolen.

I'll keep an eye out in the Tampa area.

Wow, sorry to hear this.
You might want to also go to the bass central site on here and send Jeff or Beaver a PM
and let them know as well. They are a Fodera dealer.
Good luck, and hope you get her back.

Hi all,

You guys will be happy to know that I got a phone call today from a woman who had my Fodera in her possession! It was even right in my apartment community.

She found the bass a few months back in the woods, strangely enough, and took it in, hoping someone would put up flyers looking for it. Her roommate's boyfriend told her today to put the serial number into Google, and one of my posts came up.

I picked it up from her and it's in one pretty little piece. The only thing is, I don't know how long it sat out in nature like that. The pickup poles and a bunch of the hardware (strings too, obviously) had some rust on them. Haven't plugged it in yet, but I'd imagine if it got wet in a storm or something, it might be shorted out. And a neck adjustment is the least of my worries.

My plan is to call Fodera on Monday and see if I can send it up and have them get it back in working order for me. I mean, this is kind of a miracle, so I would hope they'd replace some of the damaged parts for me.......

Woohoo!!

Right ON!

But who'd chuck a Fodera in the woods?

I'd contact Police too. Just to see if they might be able to see who took it.

God Bless, Ray
