Exclamation STOLEN: SPECTOR EURO 5 LX Black Cherry from ESTONIA, North Europe

Sign in to disble this ad
August 30th was the second worst day in my life. I had my Spector Euro 5 LX Black Cherry STOLEN from Tapper Rock Club, Tallinn, Estonia.

Estonia is located http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sour...,31.904297&z=5

bordering Latvia in the South and Russia in the East and across the gulf from Finland.

The instrument

*had original Schaller strap locks exchanged for Dunlop ones. *was made in November 2008
*was packed in original Spector gig bag
*had a Planet Waves strap.

Unfortunately I was dumb enough not to get the serial number, although the factory didn't provide me with any technical passport or information about the serial number. I have the correspondence and written confirmation of the payment, the payment number. I tried to contact the factory, not responding at the moment.

I wrote to custserv@spectorbass.com and surely I will have to get the number somehow.

Producer's home page:

http://spectorbass.com/bass_euro_Euro5LX_1.html

Specs:

• Original Spector NS curved body style
• Neck: 3pc USA Rock Maple, Graphite Rod Reinforced, Neck-Thru-Body
• Body Wings: Alder back, slice of walnut, Top Wood
• Standard Model Top: USA Figured maple top
• Fingerboard: 24 Fret, Rosewood, mother of pearl Spector inlays
• Scale Length: 35"
• Gold Plated Hardware: Spector Brass Zinc Alloy Locking Bridge
• Pickups: EMG 40DC humbuckers
• Active Tone Controls: Spector TonePump™ boost only active bass and treble
• Finish: Black Cherry

The case is very serious for me, because I am only 20 and it took me so much effort to get this bass. Playing in 2 bands, planned to go the studios soon - everything is pretty much f----d up

Some pictures can be found here:

Please, if anybody notices anything suspicious - anybody trying to sell a Spector Euro bass in Northern or Central Europe or Russia (I have a bad feeling this might be one hot spot) or whatsoever,

Yeah!!! I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPECTOR is finally at HOME!

I had spread the info everywhere and on April 17th a guy called Karla contacted me and told there was a topic in a guitar forum where a frogurt-dude called TONY was selling my Spector with 10K. It arose suspicion and I created several virtual e-mail accounts on gmail. I performed under Estonian male names like Sven Kaarik and Risto Allikmaa.

Kaarik told him he once had attempted to buy a Spector but had unfortunately not had enough dough. Sven Kaarik offered him a kickass deal. Although Tony knew the bass was stolen, he accepted Sven's deal and we met at Estonian National Library on April 23rd. Of course I came with the police and the guy was off to the police department where I had registered my lost bass (August 2009).

The police did their work although Tony denies being the thief. He tells he bought it from an acquaintance who allegedly bought it from the initial thief.

They started an investigation and we hope to catch the real whippersnapper-idiot thief!!!

Thanks for keeping an eye out,

Alari of Paean/Syrcity - Estonia

Alari - I'm so glad you got your bass back. The Spector is beautiful.
