Stolen from Tacoma, WA - Rickenbacker 4001

My son left my 4001 at school about a month ago. (No I did not know that he had taken it). I found out just recently here that he can't find it - no suprise.

It's been highly modified (I know, I know, but it was the '80's and everyone was doing it).

This bass would stick out like a sore thumb to any bass player as not being stock and is easily recognizable:

Shaved neck.
Black nut.
Mirror pickguard
Duncan pickups
Wired for mono- three pot (balance/vol/tone)
Black binding on fingerboard and body
Black jumbo-straplocks

Please keep an eye out and spread the word.
Thanks!

Adam B.

Sorry to hear that! I've posted a link to this thread on Seattle Area Bass Nerds on the book of face.

Thanks Marial,

I'm really concerned that since it's been weeks since it may have been taken, I'm probably too late. But better late then never. I'm going to make the rounds to the local music stores and pawn shops.

Hopefully some kid took it. Have you notified the school and put up any flyers at the school?

How's your son's hind end? Can he sit yet?

Having my son take care of the on campus campaign.
Pretty sure that's exactly what happened, some kid took it.

Kid can still sit, don't know for how long though. I'm defering judgment until its a total loss.
