Accidentals

Hello,

I have often pondered on this, but I never came across it in any of my music.

I am spending painstaking hours on the first Libon etude. It is in the key of Bb, and mostly 16th notes. In one of the measures, there is a natural on the first Eb, I know an accidental carries through the entire measure and is only cancelled by another accidental, but what about when it the accidental is on a different octave to another note later on in the measure? Part of me thinks this later note should be flat, but the other part of me says no. Also, later on in the measure, there is another E in the same octave as the first E natural, is this E natural as well?

This post is confusing to me, and I don't seem to be able to change the words, I will try to get a picture to elaborate...

Thanks

It carries over octaves.

Yup. But it's annoying when sight-reading.
