All Blues

Hey Guys..
I'm practising 'All Blues' by M. Davis.. I was just wondering about what scales/modes do you usually use over the changes... specially over D7#9 and Eflat7#9..
I'm also looking for a good but not too hard/fast bass solo to transcribe..
Thank You!

What scales/modes (if any) do Miles/Coltrane/Adderly/etc. use? That's what I would begin by transcribing, personally. In fact I'd start with Miles, since he is the composer of the tune. Good luck!

As well as the original recording by Miles & Co., Check out versions with Ron Carter, Dave Holland, etc..

As a part of Pentangle, Danny Thompson did a solo in the middle of the song 'Ive Got A Feeling'. Basically 'All Blues' with lyrics.

Formally Halftone-wholetone 8-note scale would fit.
And what about a blues scale?

But sometimes people play something else, that doesn't fit exactly to the written chord extensions and modification. And often enough it still sounds good.
(And sometimes the chords are incorrectly written down by some trancriber...)
