Why don't you visit the authors website,
http://www.edfriedland.com and contact him directly via the contact details on his site, quoting the page numbers etc...
It'd be interesting to hear whether he replies or not
(mind you, your email may be lost in a deluge of spam as he publishes his email address online -always a dangerous thing to do in my book.)
Incidentally:
The reason that the track titles appear with commercial music CD's but not with the tutorial CD is because every cd has a unique code number, which is known by the CDDB database online.
The database has the list of tracks for all CD's submitted to it.
But, not surprisingly, nobody has bothered to type in the track listing for your CD and submit it to CDDB, hence it does not work.
There are however, more than one online CD database, there is one called freedb, which some software uses for track name identification instead of CDDB.
The great thing about freedb, as the name implies, is that it is free.
Most audio software that will lookup CD and track names can be configured to use different online databases, but I wouldn't get too optimistic in this instance.
