Interesting Read...

I just picked up "Hearing and Writing Music: Professional Training for Today's Musician", by Ron Gorow and I find it really interesting.

I find this book very different from your average music theory text, as it address so much more of the intangible elements of musical training, and it's full of insight, motivation and practical stuff.

I am only beginning to read through it but since I've only found a few mentions of it using the TB search, I though I'd start a thread and see if anyone else has found this book helpful.

I enjoy writing, composing, arranging, and transcription so I think it's useful, although your average "weekend warrior" bassist could probably skip it.

Here is the link to the website associated with the book, even though I just picked it up at Barnes and Noble.
