Tip - how to keep

a Simandl book "flat" on the music stand? In other words, so you can read both pages without one covering the other??...Apologies if in wrong topic area!

Thanks for reading!

Bend it backwards to 'break' the binding.
Optionally: Photocopy it double-sided with 3 hole punch and put it in a binder

You guys still using paper books? Scan it and pop it up on a nice big flatscreen
I wonder if you can get Simanl books as PDFs?

This is what I use (big one, right over the spine):

When you fold them down, they also help keep sheet music on your stand (if they're big enough).

Coil book binders

At "Kinkos/FedX" I had them put a coil binder on it for about $5 US. This definitely is the best method I've found for study and reference books that aren't thicker than 2 inches or so.
They can usually do it while you wait. (about 15-20 min.)

,Contrabbasso

P.s. The coil I chose is about 5/8" - 3/4" in diameter. Just big enough to easily turn the pages.

I use clothespins (a great tip from my teacher).
