Using the Thesaurus

I bought Slonimsky's Thesaurus and im deeply impressed. however, im not sure how to best use it... what exercises do you recommend?

Its getting on for two months later since your post and I was wondering if you had found a use for it. I too was impressed. It's still on my shelf looking impressive. I guess I should buy the Lydian Cromatic Theory of Tonal Organisation to keep it company.
