? regarding "quick reply"

is there anyway to activate it without having to apply it to a specific post? i've been just clicking the qr button on the last post, so i guess that works just as well. i dunno, i just thought it might funk things up with the hybrid thread thingy...

you can just click quick reply in any message man. and in the options section it will ask you if you want to put the persons quote that you hit "quick reply" on, onto your post. i think it's pretty fast .

If a user views a thread with 'threaded' or 'hybrid' views, it DOES make a difference which post you reply to (will affect the tree structure). I may change this setting so that you can quick reply without applying it to a post, but that would pretty much invalidate the threaded post viewing

well quick reply as i like to use it is to the thread in general, but if you are viewing in threaded mode it will be under the post that you click the QR button for.

i really like quick reply because you can reply without going through that separate page. just a nice convenience (sp)

Yeah, it does effect the threaded mode even if you don't click the quote box. It gives it too much depth in the structure so it doesn't show some posts. Any way to get an option to quick reply to the main thread only?

I think the way it is set up, is counter intuitive and I can see people getting frustrated - where do I click just to reply?

I have been to other forums with this quick reply feature and you just click in the box at the bootom of the page and start typing - so I can see this confusing people.
