I want to sell my bass but I am not a paypal member. My best friend offered me to use his paypal account for the transaction when completed here on TB. Is this okay? He has been selling odds and ends for me on ebay in this manner for the past year now. But now I want to sell my bass here but not on ebay. I also have a guitar that I need to sell and I'd like to sell the same way here on TB in the non-bass area.
I'm a new supporting member and have never sold anything prior on TB.

I've had my paypal account for a long time. It's pretty easy to set up a paypal account. You could always take M.O. bank checks. People with credit cards usually have access to checks that draw off their CC. There's plenty of altenatives besides Paypal. Hope this helps.
Peter

Peter | What would you recommend as a safe way to go?
This isn't an inexpensive bass or guitar - both pricey.

Peter | I'd like to add that my friend and I work at the same place. A business that is extremely well known and around for 70 years. I would disclose to the buyer for reassurance.

Take about Two business days. You do not have that option. I guess your friend would have to transfer it then when it clears his account he pays you unless he has the money to give you......way too complicated. I would just take a M.O. or a bank check. And still I would wait until it clears my bank to be on the safe side.

As soon as paypal send the $ to his acct, I send the item. He writes me a check. It's worked great for me for a year now. I typically give him a small commission for his efforts too.
