can talkbass accept paypal to donate for supporting membership? i dont feel wholly comfortable using my credit card directly, and see no reason why paypal could not be accepted.

Sorry, we do not accept paypal. The encryption on our payment form is just as high as any other on the web - in fact the payment form is hosted by the world's largest online card processor (authorize.net). It's very secure, and no card info is ever stored. By accepting cards directly, instead of routing you through PayPal, we save a ton on Paypal fees.

Last year and the year before I was able to pay for my membership with PayPal, so I'm assuming this policy change was made sometime since May of last year???

I'd prefer not to use authorize.net. After the whole Certigy debacle I'm more than a little leery of having my credit card info in any more places than is absolutely necessary.

So on a $20 supporting membership the PayPal fee is, what, like 80 cents? I'll pay you $21 - just let me renew via PayPal...

Paul,

This is a great help to us non-US members. I don't like using my credit card online (just had to deal with $300 + of fraud). I've been holding off renewing my supporting membership for the 5th consecutive time. Since I saw this thread that you now accept paypal I've done it right away.

Personally I'd have no problem with you charging an extra dollar to use paypal. It solves a big headache for us non-US members who can't post a cheque or MO.

Cheers, Joe.
