What the **** happened to search?

Sign in to disble this ad
and what is this relevancy option... I use it and it means NOTHING.

I used alot of those search tools that were taken away to find certain threads that I now cannot find.

Surely this is not permanent?!?!?!?

P.S. If you are going to use relevancy atleast make it return threads that have alot of views and/or alot of posts... All I get now is junk when I sort ascending and descending... yet I cannot now find threads with lots of replies or lots of views (the searches I commonly do.)

I'm sorry that some of the search options you're used to aren't available any more. These features were very lightly used but I understand they were loved by a few. See this thread:

TalkBass search overhauled

The switch to this search was necessary - I don't just take away features for the heck of it It was either this, or start deleting posts from TalkBass to keep us from going over 4 million.

The search that we're using now is a user-contributed collaborative effort 'hack' for VBulletin, by fellow webmasters with forums over 4 million posts. As such, it's development is ongoing, and it should not be too long before it is able to do all the 'with xx replies' type searches that the built-in vb search could do.
