What are the rules for where a FS ad should be posted?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've recently had a FS ad moved from Accessories into the International section and need a clarification of the rules that I do not currently understand.

What are the criteria for placing an advert in the International section? For example:

Now that section has been created does every ad I post have to go in the International section because I'm European?

Now that section has been created do I only list items in there that I only wish to ship to “International”? If I will ship items to the US can they go in the general forum?

Where do I put items that I would ship to either “International” or the USA - can these go in the general Accessories forum?

If I can post my item in Accessories do I have to do the currency conversion for other members and post it in the thread, for example: £/$/€, if I have to do that do I have to include CAD / AUD / JPY / SKR as we have members from all those countries? If I do, then do other sellers of US origin in the "main" forums have to?

Thanks.

I'll talk things over with the mods. Thanks for your patience as you know this is a new forum.

My initial feeling is that if you're only selling to a non-US crowd (like Europe only), that it should only go into the Int'l forum. But if you're willing to ship to the US, and your ad is clearly marked as doing "worldwide shipping", then placement in both seems a good fit.

Given that 70% of our traffic is US-based, I would think that if you posted an ad in the US forum, and you have intention to ship to the US, that listing a price in USD would be good for business....

Anyway we'll talk this over, and either I or a mod will get back to you. Thanks -

Classifieds rules page updated with the following. Thanks for the input.

Quote:
Where to post:

All US-based sales should be posted in one of the main For Sale forums, whichever is appropriate: Bass Guitars, Amps, or Accessories. All NON-US based sales may be posted in the "For Sale: Europe and International" forum. If you're posting a NON-US based ad, and you are also willing to ship to the US, you may post your ad again (double post) in one of the US For Sale forums along with the International forum. The ad must however clearly note that you're willing to ship worldwide, and must list a price in USD in the US For Sale forums (you may denote whichever currency you like in the International forum ad).
