The guy is nuts! That bass isn't worth a dime over $54,000.

MAYBE if it was Entwistle's only bass. Otherwise, he's nuts.

He has been trying to move that bass for more than a year now.
He had a full web site set up just for the sale. I checked my bookmarks and the site is gone now.

I love his answers to the stupid questions.
If you don't like his price, don't buy it.

If I hit the lotto I would snap it up in a heartbeat.

I could probably go for $49K or something, but not 55.

As much as I love Entwistle and Status' basses, it would be a cold day in Hell before I shelled out that kind of money for one. If anyone is nuts enough about either to buy it, good luck, but count me out.

Ya I ask why too? Even if it was Entwistle's bass it still would not be worth that kind of money. I get the impression that this guy really does not want to sell it just flant it. IMO anyone who paid that kind of money for this bass should have their head examined.

Why?
Because I would like to have one. (I did say IF I won the lottery) It is less than the price of a nice sports car. Heck, I have motorcycles that cost more than that.

Like he said, IF you can find one for under 50K buy it.

I have been searching for them for a couple of years now. I can not even find out how many were made.

Do you know what John's bass sold for after his death? That one is a drop in the bucket compared to what his sold for.

Price is extremely considering Entwistle's sold earlier this year for just under $25,000.

To each his own. I am curious though what did John's bass sell for? When I was in L.A. in the late 80's going to B.I.T. the Bass Centre had a few of his basses on consignment. It seemed that John got himself into some financial trouble and was selling some of his collection. This was according to Chris Maury one of the owners fo the Bass Centre. They were'nt priced too badly either. If I had the $$ I would have bought his P bass that was there. But I was a student and was basically broke.

EACH, and that was at auction. Auctions can vary.

I don't have the money to buy it anyway. I was just saying that if I did I would buy it.

You should not be concerned with how much he wants. You should only be concerned if someone pays that much for it.

Actually, you still shouldn't be concerned. You should just be laughing to yourself.

Also a good way to get your listing to the top of a high to low search (I know I regularly do my searches that way) and then get a best offer from folks.
