I've read an article from one Gibson collector that he was of the opinion that the 2nd stamp got used on stuff that the factory simply wanted to move, and not from any actual defects. I've seen a few Gibby 2's over the years, and I couldn't account for anything wrong with them. I'm no Gibson expert, but their factory 2nd's usually are as good as the non down graded stuff. |

As a retailer, we pull 1800 to 2300 depending on condition on cherry red. Civilian pricing is usually 10% lower... Also, agreed with the other folks, this is a late 60s early 70s. If you want to email me at the shop, Ill tell you exactly what you have. At 1000.00 this was quite a bargain If its issue free (other than the switch) an d theres no repaired cracks.

The 2nd stamp is usually for a very minor cosmetic blemish. As instruments these are perfectly sound. You certainly got a very good deal on a beautiful bass.
