1975 Rickenbacker 4001 - intonation issue

I just bought the a '75 Rick with a Badass II bridge. It sounds amazing but the intonation goes a bit sharp the further I go up the neck on all strings. Is this relatively common on 4001s, and if so is there a good solution? Also, the action is a little high for my taste, so I'm going to lower the saddles. I'm wondering if maybe this will take care of the intonation issue but wanted to get some opinions first.

1- check neck relief adjust if necessary

2- adjust saddles to desired height

3- with a good tuner check your intonation at the 12th fret, adjust saddles forward or back until it is the same as the open tune (IE: e&e open and at the 12th, a-a, etc)

4 profit???
