1991 Ibanez SR800

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an Ibanez SR800 with the two band eq and Lo-J Lo-P pups. I removed the neck and it reads SR800 (as does the back of the headstock) but because of the low impedance pups I almost expected it to be a SR800LE.

Before purchasing it I searched TB and Google and my understanding was that low impedance = LE. Can anyone shed some light, is it or it not a LE?

Thank you

Your SR800 has passive pickups and preamp, not the active AFR's

I got a 91 SR800 as well rear bottom knob not functioning

Hey I just picked up a 91 SR800 from ebay as well and have a question: what is the bottom rear knob suppose to do. On my bass it does NOTHING??? I went to Ibanez to see if I could find a wiring diagram and they so thoughtfully only start at 94, which is obviously different from 91 as those have the stacked bass/treble mid/s knobs which this bass does not have. Anyone know what the knob is suppose to do and what it would mean if it does nothing. Or where I could possibly find the fabulous manual on line? The danger of buying a pre-internet bass, huh??

Apparently your TB search didn't include any of my posts. LE = Limited Edition, and those basses were made from 1987-1990. AFR pickups and 3-band preamps were introduced sometime in in 1992, in preparation for the 1993 catalog.
